I loved your video......especially the way you moved from scene to scene. Well laid out in advance. I also appreciate the way you have edited scenes to just a few seconds keeping interest and the way you have included topside clips.
How did you get the Solmar V while motoring???? That was great.
What software did you use????? I use Pinnacle Studio and find it works pretty well. I also use background music with some voiceover to explain settings.
My wife and I have been on the Solmar V to Soccoro twice....once in Nov better mantas, once in April whale sightings and underwater singing. We also had several dolphin sightings, but not to the extent that you did. I have two videos that I will try to post soon of our trips.
For what it is worth, I have posted on this site one of my first video shorts......our manta rescue in Panama. This was early in my video editing and not my best work, but I thought it was of interest.
I would like to chat with you sometime as I think we video very similarly and maybe can learn from each other...... or at least I can learn from you. I am getting ready to leave on a dive trip this Sat and will be gone for two weeks..... will try to connect with you soon.

Hi Dane, thanks for your comments about the clip. We loved our trip on the Solmar V, although we had some rough seas and our friends were sick many of the days.
I used to work in the video production so I have some background there. Now I use Adobe Premiere Pro editing software at home for videos of scuba trips. I try to keep my hand in programs like After Effects to add some extras graphics to try to spice up things a bit.
I used to have a great housing for my Hi8 camera but the camera died. The housing won't fit any another camera model. Knowing that I will eventually go to HD when it starts getting cheaper I bought a interim camera and housing. It's a struggle to use this new no frills housing, I feel a bit handicapped by it.
My wife and I have a system going when it comes time to edit our videos. She hunts for music while I digitize the footage. I lay down the rough music first and then edit the footage around the soundtrack.
Good luck on your trip this weekend, hope you get great footage. Post your other videos soon.
